Constitutional Tribunals in Latin America have been incorporated many decades ago. However, essential aspects of the analyses have been defenestrated, for example: their impact in different societies like European or American. In consequence, we are going to study two cases. One of them is about a Tribunal in the Andean Region, which is the Constitutional Court of Colombia –in 1991-, and the other is the Constitutional Court of Costa Rica-in 1989-. In this article we examine their influence in the promotion and protection of people rights, especially, we point out their influence in the generation of accountability mechanisms, which many citizens have found as a mechanism of control to their public officials.
